Job summary

The Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC) seeks a Head Start Teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans for preschool children. You will work with the Site Supervisor and MRDC team to support social, cognitive, and emotional development in a collaborative environment.

You will implement developmentally appropriate curricula, maintain child portfolios, and participate in trainings, with a focus on least restrictive environments and positive behavior supports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• One year of teaching experience preferred.
• Must pass criminal background check in MD and surrounding states.

Responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum under guidance from leaders.
• Collaborate with Education Coordinator and MRDC team to support students.
• Maintain portfolios with weekly observations and developmental assessments.
• Provide a positive learning environment and behavior supports as needed.
• Attend trainings, staff meetings, and participate in required duties.
