The Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC) seeks a Head Start Teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans for preschoolers (ages 3-5). You will collaborate with the Site Supervisor and MRDC team to support social, cognitive, physical, and emotional development in line with Head Start standards.

Responsibilities include implementing licensed curriculum, maintaining child portfolios, coordinating with families and professionals, and ensuring a safe, engaging classroom.

Formación

• Knowledge of early childhood development principles.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Cultural competency and the ability to work with diverse families.
• Must pass criminal background check in MD and surrounding states.
• At least one year of early childhood classroom teaching experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children per guidance from leadership.
• Refer children suspected of having special needs or challenging behavior to appropriate staff.
• Implement behavior plans and IEPs designed with the team.
• Guide and facilitate daily activities, field trips, and material setup.
• Maintain a comprehensive portfolio with weekly observations and samples.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Supervise children at all times and apply positive behavior management.
• Attend trainings, workshops, and staff meetings to enhance professional skills.
• Ensure files are complete, accurate, and confidential.
