Job summary

Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC) in Maryland seeks a Head Start Teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans for preschoolers, aligning with Head Start standards and collaborating with the Site Supervisor and MRDC team.

Responsibilities include delivering developmentally appropriate curriculum for ages 3-5, maintaining portfolios, promoting a positive learning environment, and ensuring safety. Eleven-month position with benefits and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Must pass criminal background check in MD and surrounding states.
• At least one year of early childhood classroom teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children per guidance from leadership.
• Refer children with special needs to appropriate staff and implement plans.
• Maintain a comprehensive portfolio for each child with weekly observations.
• Foster a positive learning atmosphere and ensure a safe classroom.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings; maintain confidential records.
