Job summary

Macomb County Government is seeking a part-time Teacher Aide to support Head Start activities. Under supervision, you will assist in preparing children and families, encourage exploration and language development, and help ensure a safe, healthy classroom environment in accordance with licensing and Head Start standards.

You will interact with children and families, participate in screenings, and enter data using program software.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Willing to enroll in a CDA credential within two years of hire.
• Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license is required.
• Experience with Head Start or preschool is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing Head Start program and prepare children and families.
• Interact with children and families; encourage exploration, language development and self-esteem.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy classroom per licensing standards and Head Start.
• Enter data on ongoing child/family services using program software and travel between classroom sites.
• Participate in recruitment, registration, and required screenings for children.
