Job summary

Macomb Community Action is seeking a Part-time Teacher Aide to support the Head Start program under supervision. You will assist in preparing children and families to meet program goals and outcomes, and ensure readiness skills and program health requirements are met.

Responsibilities include interacting with children and families, supporting parents, maintaining safety, and entering data in program software. A valid Michigan driver license is noted for travel between sites.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Enrollment in a CDA credential program within 2 years of hire is expected.
• Preferred: Associate degree in ECE or related field and CDA credential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing Head Start program under supervision.
• Interact with children and families to support development and readiness goals.
• Encourage exploration, language stimulation, and decision making.
• Support parents as their child's first teacher and provide positive reinforcement.
• Maintain a clean, safe classroom compliant with licensing and Head Start standards.
• Use program software to enter and track child/family data.
• Assist in recruitment, registration, screenings, and classroom activities.
• Travel between classroom sites as needed.
