Job summary

Macomb County is seeking a part-time Teacher Aide to support the Head Start program. Under supervision, you will assist in implementing program goals, preparing children and families, and meeting readiness outcomes.

You will work across classrooms, help with recruitment, screenings, and data entry, and ensure safety and compliance with licensing standards. The role requires a high school diploma or GED with a willingness to pursue a CDA credential within two years.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Willing to enroll in a CDA credential program within 2 years of hire
• Associate degree and/or CDA credential preferred for advancement

Responsibilities

• Interact with children and families under supervision.
• Encourage exploration and language development.
• Support parents in their role as the child’s first teacher.
• Maintain safe, clean classroom per licensing regulations.
• Enter and maintain data on child/family services in program software.
• Assist in recruitment, registration, and screenings.
