Save the Children US is seeking a Head Start Teacher to lead preschool learning activities, manage a classroom, and build strong partnerships with families. The role focuses on social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development in line with program standards and licensing requirements.

The position requires an associate degree in early childhood education or related field, proficiency in English, and ability to work with diverse families.

Formación

• Minimum of an associate degree in child development, early childhood education or a related degree with early childhood equivalent coursework.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals and teams to provide high-quality services to children and families.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, problem solving and time management.
• Must participate in professional development including basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification as required by state licensing.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans to promote school readiness.
• Ensure a safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Build relationships with children and their families.
• Maintain accurate records (paper and online).
• Maintain confidentiality of children and families.
• Plan and document observations, assessments and screenings with ongoing portfolio development.
• Supervise and collaborate with Assistant Teacher, Program Aides and Volunteers.
• Engage children throughout the day with supervision and safe activities.
• Plan conferences and home visits to inform caregivers of progress.
• Work with management to align with Head Start Program Performance Standards.
