Job summary

Moog Space and Defense Group in Buffalo is seeking a Propulsion Systems Engineering Director to lead the Propulsion Systems Business Unit Engineering organization, with accountability for strategy, workforce planning, budgets and capital forecasting across all programs. You will direct engineering talent initiatives and ensure delivery of innovative propulsion solutions.

The role requires 15+ years of leadership in engineering, strong business acumen, and a track record of advancing technology

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
15+ years of leading multi-disciplined Engineering teams, including Internal R&D.
7+ years in progressive leadership roles with strategy and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Lead the Propulsion Business Unit Engineering organization, directing strategy, workforce planning, budgets, and capital forecasting.
Oversee recruitment, development, performance management, succession planning, and mentoring.
Drive IRAD investments, engineering processes, and continuous improvement aligned to business objectives.
Ensure high-quality, safe, reliable propulsion solutions meeting customer requirements.
Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and change leadership within the unit.
Set engineering KPIs, monitor performance, and resolve escalated issues.
