Job summary

Moog Space and Defense Group in Niagara Falls, NY, seeks an experienced Staff Propulsion Systems Engineer to lead propulsion design from concept to production for DoD missions. You will drive trade studies, component baselining, and verification campaigns to deliver high-quality propulsion systems.

The role requires 7+ years, with 5+ in leadership, a BS in engineering (MS/PhD preferred), and the ability to obtain a DoD clearance.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
7+ years progressive experience; 12 years preferred.
5+ years leading or supporting development projects.
Experience interfacing with customers and strong communication.
Leadership and mentoring of engineers.
DFM mindset and design-for-manufacturing experience.
Ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead propulsion design and development from concept to production for customer missions.
Oversee detailed system and fluid analyses to match components to requirements.
Drive design verification plans across components and subsystems.
Mentor and coach engineers in propulsion design.
Guide CAD work in Teamcenter/NX and supervise drawing generation.
Translate customer requirements into actionable development strategies.
