Job summary

Notion is seeking a Head of People Operations in San Francisco to lead our team and design systems behind a premier employee experience. The role blends operational craft with thoughtful automation, while keeping human judgment central in sensitive decisions.

You'll shape strategy across People Operations and Total Rewards, coaching the team, defining ownership, and driving cross-functional collaboration to scale Notion as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a high performing People Operations team in a shared services capacity.
• Experience building scalable People programs, infrastructure, and operational processes from the ground up.
• Hands-on experience with compensation administration, benefits, and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Put agents to work thoughtfully by prototyping and scaling workflows with trusted information, access controls, validation, and human review.
• Lead the team, set the roadmap, establish ownership, and prioritize improvements across service delivery, systems, and automation.
• Design and improve People Operations processes covering onboarding, changes, leaves, and offboarding with clear ownership and documentation.
• Lead Total Rewards operations, owning routine compensation and benefits processes and enabling policy/program design and cross-functional handoffs.
• Measure and strengthen operations using service, quality, and adoption data while maintaining data integrity and audit readiness.
• Make change stick by aligning decisions across People, Finance, Payroll, Legal, IT, and BizTech and driving adoption.
