Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a Director to build and lead a high-performing team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) across oncology, driving execution of the Medical Strategic Objectives and Integrated Scientific Communication Plan.

You will coach, develop, and retain talent, ensure strong disease state expertise, and align activities with business goals while fostering cross-functional partnerships and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Advanced scientific or clinical degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, RN, or equivalent).
• 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including Medical Affairs or field medical leadership.
• Demonstrated success leading, coaching, or developing others in oncology or a related therapeutic area.
• Strong understanding of oncology clinical landscapes and healthcare environments in the United States.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with medical, clinical, commercial, and access teams.
• Familiarity with customer relationship management tools and digital platforms relevant to scientific engagement.
• Strong skills in data analytics, insight generation, and medical metrics tracking.
• Experience working in matrix organizations with effective stakeholder management.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive culture that supports team collaboration and individual growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead, oversee, coach, mentor MSLs to ensure engagement, performance, and growth.
• Develop and align MSL strategies with business goals and medical plans.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to maximize capabilities and outcomes.
• Share consolidated medical insights across the business.
• Foster collaboration with medical directors, clinical development, and commercial teams.
• Ensure compliance with standards, policies, and laws within MSL activities.
• Represent the MSL function in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
