Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline in the United States is seeking a Director to build and lead a high-performing team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) and shape plans aligned with Medical Strategic Objectives and the Integrated Scientific Communication Plan.

You will coach MSLs, ensure deep oncology knowledge, drive cross-functional collaboration with medical, clinical development and commercial teams, and recruit diverse talent while upholding compliance and performance standards.

Qualifications

• Advanced scientific or clinical degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, RN, or equivalent).
• 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including Medical Affairs or field medical leadership.
• Demonstrated success leading, coaching, or developing others in oncology or a related therapeutic area.
• Strong understanding of oncology clinical landscapes and US healthcare environments.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with medical, clinical, commercial, and access teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, oversee, coach, mentor MSLs to ensure high engagement and performance.
• Be proficient in disease state, product knowledge, and brand strategy.
• Recruit, develop and retain top talent; build a diverse and inclusive organization.
• Drive performance metrics by setting vision and continuous improvement.
• Develop and align MSL strategies with business goals and medical plans.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to inform capabilities and outcomes.
• Ensure shared medical insights across the business.
