Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks a Head of Contract Management for Hub North America within the Grid Automation unit. Lead contract lifecycle activities across tendering, project execution, claims, and dispute resolution to enable successful, compliant project delivery.

You will oversee strategy, standardization, and capability development while collaborating with Marketing, Sales, PM, Supply Chain, Risk, Legal, and Finance to support complex energy, infrastructure, software, and data center projects.

Qualifications

• Work authorization to work in the United States.
• University degree in Law or equivalent with relevant professional experience.
• Over seven years of professional experience as a Contract Manager, legal counsel, or in a comparable contractual role.
• Extensive experience in Contract Management during tendering and project execution for complex technology, energy, infrastructure, EPC, or industrial projects.
• Demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating, and administering complex commercial contracts.
• Knowledge of contract strategy, risk allocation, change management, claims management, dispute resolution, and contract-related legal matters.
• Ability to provide practical guidance on complex contractual matters with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Contract Management strategy for Hub North America in alignment with priorities.
• Lead the Contract Management organization and oversee consistent application of methodologies, policies, and procedures.
• Review tender and commercial documentation to identify obligations, risks, and opportunities.
• Support tendering and sales by developing commercially sustainable and contractually compliant proposals.
• Negotiate and manage contractual arrangements with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and partners.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual, commercial, and financial risks throughout the lifecycle.
• Provide CM support during project execution, including claims, changes, and dispute resolution.
• Coach and develop Contract Management professionals and promote knowledge sharing.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations and guidelines.
