Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC. seeks a Senior Contract Manager to provide expert legal and contractual guidance for Grid Integration projects, including data centers and eMobility initiatives.

You will advise on tender processes, risk mitigation, and complex agreements while ensuring compliance with group directives and local laws. The role requires a Law Degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, with fluent English and willingness to travel for project needs.

Qualifications

• Law Degree required.
• 10+ years of corporate in-house or law firm experience relating to grid system or major utilities construction/engineering projects.
• Knowledge of utility-scale EPC agreements (onshore and offshore).
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Identify legal issues for Grid Integration projects and develop effective strategies, mitigation actions and practical solutions.
• Support tender process, risk identification, negotiation of contracts, framework agreements, consortium agreements, settlement agreements, financial instruments and major procurement contracts.
• Protect company policies and interests in internal activities and negotiations with third parties.
• Collaborate with legal teams globally as well as interdisciplinary project teams.
• Promote dispute avoidance and coordinate claims with the legal department.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal regulations including competition law, bribery and corruption.
• Promote ethical conduct in compliance with company directives.
• Present legal risks in risk reviews and internal processes.
