Job summary

JLL is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the operation of critical building systems and the engineering team, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable workplaces for clients. You will drive reliability-based maintenance, support capital planning, and guarantee regulatory compliance.

You will oversee multi-discipline staff, optimize preventive maintenance, and maintain CMMS records while coordinating vendor services and responding to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• EPA Universal Certification is required.
• Minimum of 5 years in facility operations or engineering with leadership.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and safety standards.
• Experience with preventive and reliability-centered maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, lighting, controls).
• Lead engineering staff in daily operations and promote safety and service quality.
• Develop and implement preventive and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
• Support capital planning and equipment replacement strategies.
• Ensure compliance with codes, safety regs, and client requirements.
• Manage contractor activities, monitor quality, and coordinate vendor services.
• Maintain engineering logs and CMMS records (Corrigo).
• Respond to facility issues and after-hours emergencies as needed.
• Prepare project estimates and proposals for site leadership.
