Job summary

JLL is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to lead the day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations in a critical facilities environment. You will supervise staff, coordinate preventive maintenance, and ensure uptime while working with contractors on-site.

You will train personnel, manage logs and system readings, and support emergency procedures. Strong leadership and HVAC/mechanical knowledge are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related experience in building operations, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, or similar skilled trades.
• Leadership or supervisory experience within an engineering, maintenance, or facilities environment.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or willingness to obtain certification within the first year with company support.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct engineering and maintenance staff during assigned shifts, monitoring safety and team performance.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and service requests for mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and critical systems.
• Monitor building operations including UPS, generators, switchgear, chilled water systems, boilers, pumps, and fire/life safety systems.
• Train and mentor engineering staff on maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, workplace safety, and proper tool usage.
