Job summary

JLL in Fairfield, OH is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead daily operations, maintenance, and performance of critical building systems. You will manage engineering teams, ensure safety, uptime, and client satisfaction while aligning with regulatory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will oversee technicians, preventive maintenance, and vendor activities, driving reliability and asset value for client facilities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent combination of technical training and relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of facility operations or engineering experience, including supervisory and leadership responsibilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, fluid handling systems, and facility maintenance operations.
• Certification as a Universal Technician for CFCs or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and critical building systems to ensure optimal facility performance.
• Lead and supervise engineering and maintenance staff, ensuring work orders and preventive maintenance activities are completed on schedule.
• Implement and manage preventive and reliability-based maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
• Monitor building systems, review logs, identify issues, coordinate corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies with proper documentation.
• Manage contractor activities, vendor relationships, inventory, and purchase orders to support operations.
• Support operational improvement initiatives and staff training, fostering professionalism.
