Concurrence is seeking a Head of Engineering to own the platform, backend, and data layers with a strong sense of ownership. You will lead seasoned engineers, hire top talent, and set technical direction in collaboration with the CTO and product teams.

The role blends technical leadership with strategic product judgment, translating customer needs into scalable systems while maintaining reliability, privacy, and security in a healthcare context.

Qualifications

• Track record of engineering leadership in high-skill teams.
• Breadth across application, backend, infrastructure and data platforms.
• Experience managing and growing engineers with mentorship and performance conversations.
• Strong technical background capable of system design and tradeoff decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow engineering across application, backend, infrastructure, and data.
• Hire engineers and develop leaders, raising the team's standards.
• Drive end-to-end delivery from problem to deployment in a reliable, compliant way.
• Lead architectural discussions and guide system design tradeoffs.
• Shape engineering culture, code review, shipping cadence, and production issue response.
• Break platform problems into increments delivering value early while supporting long-term direction.
• Collaborate with product and customer teams to align priorities and platform scope.
