Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation is seeking a Director of Electrical Systems & Integration to lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of vehicle electrical and electromechanical systems across complex platforms. You will drive high-voltage and low-voltage architecture, propulsion electronics, and controls integration from concept through production launch and field support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in automotive or related field
• 7+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams or large-scale integration
• All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Responsibilities

• Lead development of vehicle electrical architecture strategy across HV/LV, controls integration and distribution
• Drive electrical and electromechanical integration across propulsion, chassis, software, and manufacturing teams
• Oversee development of vehicle communication networks, diagnostics, and functional interactions
• Lead strategy for HV architectures, battery systems, power electronics, charging and propulsion controls
• Establish engineering standards, integration frameworks, and validation methodologies
• Coordinate with suppliers and external engineering partners to ensure launch readiness
• Oversee DV/PV validation, issue resolution, and production launch support
• Ensure regulatory compliance with FMVSS, ISO, SAE, EMC and cybersecurity
