Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation seeks a Senior Director of Design Engineering - Electrical to lead electrical and controls engineering across the product portfolio. You will shape strategic direction, governance, and operating models for high- and low-voltage systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions from concept through launch and field support.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to improve speed to market, product quality, warranty performance, and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 15+ years of progressively responsible product engineering experience in automotive/complex manufacturing.
• 8+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience leading managers and multi-site teams.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident; authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical and controls engineering strategy and multi-year technology roadmap.
• Lead multi-site org of engineering managers and professionals.
• Serve as senior technical authority for high/low-voltage systems and vehicle controls.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards.
• Drive value engineering, cost reduction, and standardization.
• Build and manage operating and capital plans; communicate strategy to executive leadership.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain to improve manufacturability and product performance.
