Job summary

Vantage Data Centers in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Chief Engineer to lead 24/7 operation of a large Tier III campus, overseeing electrical and mechanical systems, reliability, and energy efficiency. You will manage a team of specialists and technicians, coordinate maintenance, testing, and start-up activities, and ensure compliance with MOPs, safety rules, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten years of hands-on maintenance/repair/installation experience in mission-critical facilities.
• At least two years of leadership/management experience in mission-critical environments.
• Solid understanding of 2N Data Center infrastructure, systems, operations and emergency responses.
• Strong technical writing skills; ability to develop and update MOPs, EOPs, and SOPs.
• Excellent customer service and communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 24/7/365 operation of facility equipment and systems to ensure uptime.
• Lead and mentor Senior Specialists and Technicians; manage performance and training.
• Coordinate maintenance, testing, and commissioning of critical infrastructure and systems.
• Develop budgets, schedules, and resource plans; manage parts and service contracts.
• Ensure compliance with safety, EPA/environmental, and local regulations; maintain SOPs.
• Monitor site reliability and drive energy efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Director-level staff on strategic plans and capital projects.
