5C Data Centers, based in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the Critical Facilities Maintenance team. This on-site role focuses on electrical power delivery and cooling infrastructure, with 24/7 reliability responsibilities and mentoring a team of 10+ engineers.

As a senior leader, you will drive regional initiatives, safety, and continuous improvement across multiple facilities, shaping the future of our critical infrastructure for hyperscale and AI workloads.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on electrical or mechanical experience.
• 8+ years of mission critical facilities maintenance experience (data centers, power generation, hospitals, etc).
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams across multiple facilities or large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams across multiple sites or large-scale projects, setting priorities and allocating resources.
• Mentor and train Chief Engineers and senior technicians, providing coaching, performance feedback, and technical guidance.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement across all sites.
• Ensure consistent maintenance, operation, and reliability across multiple data center sites and critical infrastructure systems.
• Oversee daily operations of the CFM team, ensuring readiness for maintenance, repair, and emergency response.
• Manage uptime, efficiency, and sustainability metrics, delivering executive-level reporting and recommendations.
• Ensure 24/7 reliability of key systems, including electrical distribution, UPS, generators, chillers, air handlers, and fire/life safety systems.
• Guide teams through incident management and root cause analysis, driving corrective actions and long-term improvements.
