Job summary

Vantage Data Centers, based on-site in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a Manager, Chief Engineer to ensure continuous operation of its large Tier III data center campus. You will lead a team of specialists and technicians, manage maintenance programs, and drive reliability improvements.

The role requires a decade of hands-on experience, leadership in mission-critical environments, and strong technical writing plus customer-facing skills. Willingness to work after-hours is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten years of hands-on maintenance/repair/installation/commissioning experience in mission-critical facilities.
• At least two years of leadership/management experience in mission-critical infra environments.
• Strong understanding of 2N data center infrastructure, systems, operations, maintenance and emergency responses.
• Experience creating/updating MOP/EOP/SOPs for critical facilities equipment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills working with on-site customers.
• Willingness to work long hours, weekends, on-call and after-hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 24/7/365 operation of facility equipment and systems.
• Lead maintenance, repairs, testing and commissioning activities.
• Manage personnel, performance appraisals, training plans and coaching.
• Coordinate subcontracted maintenance and repairs and optimize in-house support.
• Develop budgets and manage purchases, ensuring cost-effective operations.
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA, EPA and local regulations and maintain SOPs.
