Clearway Energy Group seeks a Director of Controls & SCADA Engineering to lead strategy, design, deployment, and lifecycle management of plant control systems across solar, wind, and BESS assets. You will establish standards, architectures, and governance while mentoring a growing team and coordinating with IT, O&M, and EPC partners.

The role requires 12+ years in controls/SCADA with 5+ years of leadership, deep experience in renewables, and strong regulatory familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or control systems engineering.
• Over 12 years in controls engineering, SCADA, or related fields.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams or major projects.
• Experience with utility-scale renewable energy and BESS.
• Proven track record with multi-OEM integrations and grid interfaces.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement controls and SCADA strategy for development and fleet.
• Lead a team of controls and SCADA engineers across projects.
• Define training programs and governance for software changes.
• Coordinate with Development, Operations, IT, and REMC.
• Oversee upgrades of plant controllers and OEM interfaces for compliance.

Formation

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or control systems engineering

12+ years of progressive experience in controls engineering, SCADA, industrial automation, power generation

5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams

Experience with utility-scale renewable energy generation (solar, wind, BESS)

Experience with design, integration, commissioning, troubleshooting lifecycle management

Experience with multiple OEMs, plant controllers, SCADA platforms, grids interfaces

NERC/ERCOT/WECC regulatory familiarity

Knowledge of cyber security standards and OT networks

Ability to lead root-cause investigations and fleet-wide improvements
