Compass is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead the consumer websites and apps across our nine brands. You will shape the organization, hire managers, and drive a shared platform strategy for global audiences, ensuring scalable, reliable experiences.

Reporting to the VP of Software Engineering, you will partner with Product, Design, and brand leaders to deliver differentiated consumer experiences and growth through SEO, AI, and performance excellence.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering with consumer-facing web/mobile focus.
• 10+ years in engineering leadership including leading managers.
• Experience building multi-brand platforms and shared foundations.
• Strong business acumen, budgets, vendors and partnerships.
• AI-enabled consumer experiences and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Set multi-brand engineering vision for brands' websites and apps with leaders.
• Lead cross-brand platform strategy spanning 120 countries and territories.
• Define org standards for reliability, performance, and accessibility.
• Manage tech spend, vendors, and delivery partners with discipline.
• Hire, grow leaders, and plan succession with a culture of ownership.
