Job summary

Compass seeks an experienced Director of Engineering to lead consumer-facing web and mobile experiences across nine brands. You will shape the technical strategy, align with Product, Design, and brand leaders, and own the investment and execution across the org.

You will build and grow managers, establish standards for quality and performance, and drive AI-enabled improvements to the consumer journey. This role requires the ability to influence across a distributed organization and international

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering leadership, including 6+ years leading managers.
• 12+ years in software engineering for consumer products.
• Experience building multi-brand, multi-market platforms with shared foundations.
• Proven ability to translate technical strategy into business outcomes for executives.

Responsibilities

• Own the consumer experience technical strategy for websites and apps across nine brands.
• Set platform strategy to serve consumers in 120 countries and territories.
• Lead org-wide standards for quality, reliability, and performance.
• Hire, develop, and succession-plans to ensure long-term org health.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Marketing and brands to align priorities.
