Scribd, Inc. is hiring an engineering manager for Content Foundations to build and lead a team owning how content enters Scribd. You will combine large-scale data infrastructure with applied AI to deliver real-time ingestion, trusted content processing, and scalable performance.

You'll hire, grow, and inspire backend and AI data engineers, shaping culture, standards, and career paths from day one. This role partners with product and engineering leaders worldwide.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• Deep expertise in high-throughput distributed systems and data pipelines.
• Experience or strong intent with applied AI in production systems.
• Platform-product mindset and clearly defined interfaces/SLAs.
• Security-minded approach to building scalable systems.
• Operational excellence with reliability and on-call discipline.
• Strong communication with product, engineering and partners.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision for content ingestion and evolve a real-time AI-native system.
• Lead backend and AI data engineers, shaping culture and standards.
• Run the team as a product with roadmap and commitments across teams.
• Integrate ML models and ensure content is understood, trusted, and enriched.
• Collaborate with product and leadership across trust, safety, and AI platforms.
• Champion security and safe handling of untrusted input at scale.
