Scribd, Inc. is hiring an Engineering Manager for Content Foundations to lead a team that builds real-time, AI-driven content ingestion at scale.

You’ll set the vision for high-throughput data pipelines and guide backend engineers and AI data specialists while shaping a culture of reliability and security. You'll partner with product and platform teams to align roadmaps, deliver tangible improvements, and scale the corpus that powers Scribd’s core brands.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering.
• 3+ years leading backend, data-infrastructure, or platform teams.
• Deep experience with high-throughput distributed systems and data pipelines.
• Experience applying AI in production, including ML models/LLMs.
• Platform-product mindset with interface design and SLAs.
• Security-minded approach to building scalable systems.
• Operational excellence: reliability, observability, on-call health.
• Clear, direct communication with product and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Own vision and strategy for content ingestion at Scribd's scale.
• Build AI-powered capabilities into the platform's core.
• Translate platform capabilities into product impact and roadmaps.
• Lead, grow, and mentor backend and AI data engineers from day one.
• Run the team as a product with defined roadmap and commitments.
• Champion security as a first-class design principle.
