Job summary

The Shield Co. Management is seeking a Director of SEO/AEO & Content Marketing to own our national and local organic growth strategy.

You will drive an AI-enhanced program, scale local search, and lead content and partnerships to deliver measurable leads and revenue. You will manage a team and potentially agency partners, with a clear emphasis on CAC impact, renewals, and growth in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in National and Local SEO with a track record on high-traffic sites.
• Fluency in building AEO and LLM visibility programs with AI awareness.
• Local SEO at scale: multi-location Google Business Profile management and citations.
• Technical depth: crawling/indexing, Core Web Vitals, structured data, migrations.
• Content operations leadership: editorial calendars, pipelines, quality at volume.
• Channel P&L or budget ownership and team management experience.

Responsibilities

• Own organic growth strategy: national/local SEO, AEO, content marketing, organic social and reporting on leads and CAC.
• Grow organic performance for the company site: technical SEO, site architecture, on-page optimization, internal linking, link building.
• Build and manage the AEO program to gain visibility in AI overviews and related platforms.
• Scale local presence: optimize Google Business Profiles, citations, reviews, and local landing pages per market.
• Lead content ecosystem: process, standards, and AI-assisted production with human quality control.
• Develop partnerships and mentor SEO/AEO and content teams, potentially guiding agencies.
• Forecast organic lead and sales volume and report to leadership.
