Job summary

BizIQ - Smart Growth Marketing seeks an experienced Director of SEO and AEO to lead a team and shape client search strategies across traditional SEO, AEO, and AI-powered search. You will emphasize experimentation, measurable results, and hands-on leadership, mentoring ~15 team members and collaborating with Sales, Client Services, and Development to translate insights into scalable programs.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of traditional SEO, including local, organic, technical, content, and authority-building.
• Strong ability to develop hypotheses, run experiments, analyze results, and implement learnings.
• Hands-on leadership balancing strategy, data analysis, and team mentoring.
• Proficiency with analytics/SEO platforms (GA, GSC, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz) and turning data into action.
• Solid grasp of AI and emerging technologies shaping search and digital marketing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve strategies across traditional SEO and emerging AEO, driving client visibility across search engines and AI-powered platforms.
• Drive measurable results on client campaigns and identify opportunities via experimentation and data analysis.
• Lead hands-on testing, build hypotheses, run experiments, and translate findings into scalable playbooks.
• Identify practical AI applications in SEO/AEO and evaluate new tools for performance and efficiency.
• Create training materials and resources for SEO Specialists, Sales, Client Services, and other teams.
• Lead a multidisciplinary SEO/AEO team (~15) and coach talent toward accountability and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Sales, Client Services, Design, Fulfillment, Development, and leadership to translate strategies into execution.
