Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a technical manager to coach and develop Solutions Architects, driving AI and cloud-based architectures for enterprise customers. You will mentor teams, partner with sales, and help shape best practices across the AWS platform.

The role covers multiple US locations, with up to 30% travel, and requires deep cloud experience, leadership and a track record of growing customer-facing engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise IT application work including hands-on software development or DevOps experience.
• 2+ years of architecting/operating solutions on any cloud provider (Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI).
• 8+ years of technology solutions development and evangelising end-to-end roadmaps for cloud transformations.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience leading and growing teams of senior technology professionals, ideally in customer facing roles.

Responsibilities

• As a key member of the business development and sales management teams, ensure success in building and AI solutions, migrating applications, software and services onto the AWS platform.
• Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solutions Architects from internal and external sources.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
• Coach Solutions Architects in the skills needed to conduct one-to-two and one-to-many training sessions so they can transfer deep technical skills to customers considering or using AWS.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community.
• Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices.
• Build deep relationships with decision makers within customer accounts to enable them to be “AI and Cloud advocates”.
• Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.
