Job summary

The Nutrition Site Coordinator / Head Cook position in Salida, Colorado, is a part-time role with UAACOG. You will run the nutrition site and kitchen, prepare meals from approved menus, and ensure on-time service with proper portion control in a friendly setting.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking a variety of foods in quantity.
• Knowledge of health regulations, inventory control, and budgeting.
• Must obtain ServSafe Retail Food Handlers Certification within six weeks.
• Math and problem-solving skills.
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid Colorado driver’s license, and current insurance.
• Pass a Colorado Bureau of Investigation background check.
• Experience working with the elderly population.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food according to approved menus and recipes.
• Serve meals on time with proper portion control in a friendly, relaxing atmosphere.
• Ensure staff and volunteers follow proper sanitation procedures.
• Compile and record daily, weekly, and monthly data; maintain inventory and order supplies.
• Train and supervise the back-up cook and volunteers in the kitchen, serving, and dining areas.
• Work with local agencies and media to promote participation and outreach; keep health inspection records.
