Job summary

RMHCS in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Culinarian to prepare and provide meals for all functions as directed by the Food Services Manager. Responsibilities include ensuring sanitary practices, seasoning and cooking per recipes, portioning and garnishing, and maintaining safety standards.

The role supports multiple day centers with potential driving between locations; requires a valid Food Handler's license and at least 1 year in food service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in food service industry.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Food Handler's License prior to start date; ongoing certification required.
• Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License with good driving record and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect food preparation areas for sanitary practices.
• Season and cook food according to recipes or judgment.
• Observe and test foods to determine if cooked sufficiently.
• Weight, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Portion, arrange and garnish food for service.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill temperatures.
• Assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
• Bake, roast, broil and steam foods.
• Prepare fruits and vegetables for consumption.
• Estimate expected food consumption.
• Bake breads, rolls, cakes and pastries.
• Prepare relishes and hors d’oeuvres.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards.
