Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Project Engineer to lead HDLC and Integrated Solutions installation projects across the United States. You will manage technical execution from material procurement through commissioning, perform site walks, coordinate with installers, and ensure all work meets Vertiv’s quality and safety standards.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to travel up to 50% within the U.S.; location options include Lorain, OH

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related technical roles.
• Strong understanding of thermal dynamics and heat transfer principles.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, P&IDs.
• Ability to travel up to 50% within the U.S.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead on liquid cooling and IS installation projects.
• Lead installation from planning through commissioning.
• Develop and manage Bills of Material (BOMs) and order materials.
• Perform pre-installation site walks to assess readiness.
• Provide hands-on technical assistance to installation crews.
• Create and maintain project documentation and procedures.
• Ensure installation work complies with Vertiv standards and codes.
• Monitor project schedules with PM and report progress.
• Support commissioning to ensure systems are ready for handover.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, Quality, and Field Engineering.
