Job summary

Vertiv Corporation seeks a Thermodynamic HVAC Engineer to join the Thermal Management team within Engineering and R&D. The role is based in Columbus, OH, with global product scope for chilled water systems. You will report to an Engineering Manager and help advance innovative, cost-effective cooling solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical Engineering degree and 3–5 years in HVAC, with strong thermodynamics knowledge and leadership capability. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in HVAC projects, preferably liquid chillers design.
• Excellent knowledge of thermodynamic and refrigeration principles.
• English – intermediate level, written and spoken.
• High motivation with leadership abilities and team orientation.

Responsibilities

• Manage development of new R&D products in the data center cooling sector for global datacenter customers.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team focusing on high performance, cost effectiveness, and innovation.
• Lead design of new products or re-engineer existing ones, coordinating with Marketing, Procurement and IE.
• Approve and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, BOMs).
• Meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time, balancing market and internal needs.
• Analyze and resolve technical problems for products under responsibility.
