Job summary

Axon is seeking a Manager, Hardware Validation on the Product Integrity team in Phoenix. You will lead a team of validation engineers, own the hardware validation plan from requirements through production, and ensure products meet functional, environmental, reliability and safety standards.

You will partner with Hardware, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory teams, drive test plans for functional, environmental, EMC/EMI, and reliability tests, and mentor engineers while pushing

Qualifications

• 8+ years hardware test/validation/reliability engineering.
• 2+ years leading or managing engineers in validation/test/reliability.
• Hands-on experience with environmental and reliability tests (HALT/HASS, vibration, thermal, ingress, drop/shock, EMC).
• Knowledge of MIL-STD/IEC/ISO/ASTM and EMC/regulatory certification processes.
• Experience with DOE and Weibull analysis for reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of hardware validation engineers, setting direction and growth plans.
• Own the validation plan for assigned product programs from requirements through prototype, development, and production release.
• Define and drive test plans covering functional, environmental, and reliability testing.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify design risks and drive root-cause investigations to closure.
• Support test lab infrastructure and data systems for assigned product lines.
• Track validation metrics and gate exit criteria; report status and risk to leadership.
• Manage relationships with external test labs and certification bodies (UL, FCC, CE, MIL-STD).
• Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, cycle time, and defect escape rates.
