Job summary

Rugged Science seeks a Hardware Support Specialist to troubleshoot and repair rugged computer systems for demanding clients. The role combines hands-on electronics with remote diagnostics, requiring Linux and Windows proficiency and IPC standards awareness.

You will work with a close-knit team in a fast-paced environment, participate in developing test procedures, and support sales on product configurations while delivering reliable customer support and quality results.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux and Windows environments.
• 5+ years in the computer industry.
• 2+ years troubleshooting and repairing board-level issues.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and certification is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot board-level issues to identify root causes.
• Repair defective units following IPC standards.
• Use client management tools for remote diagnostics.
• Develop custom images per customer and product specs (Windows and Linux).
• Collaborate with Sales to answer configuration questions.
• Perform functionality testing of industrial and military products.
• Contribute to testing procedures and documentation.
