Job summary

Systel is seeking a dynamic System Test Specialist to join our team in Sugar Land, TX. The role involves hands-on hardware and software system testing, diagnostics, and verification against ruggedization standards for mission-critical environments.

You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure reliable operation of our rugged computing solutions. This onsite position may require travel and offers growth within a respected defense and commercial technology

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent technical experience in computer technology or electronics.
2–4 years of hands-on systems testing experience.
Proficiency with Windows and Linux, BIOS/UEFI configuration, hardware troubleshooting, and basic scripting.

Responsibilities

Execute automated and manual test procedures on integrated hardware and software systems.
Set up, configure, and verify test environments including OS, BIOS settings, drivers, networks, and peripherals.
Perform board- and component-level diagnostics using schematics and test fixtures.
Analyze system performance data and produce reports with results and corrective recommendations.
Document defects in hardware and software using JIRA and track progress.
Verify compliance with internal specs and relevant ruggedization/military guidelines.
Collaborate with hardware, software, and manufacturing engineers on corrective actions and retest activities.
