Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a Hard Lines Merchandising Specialist to join our Donated Goods Retail (DGR) team in Lake Jackson, TX. You will sort, price, and display hardline donations, ensuring items are accurately tagged and rotated for sale.

You’ll research merchandise value, assist customers, and help maintain safe, clean sales floors while supporting the store’s mission to educate, train, and hire individuals who face barriers to employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math functions (i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Sort donations and price items according to GWH guidelines.
• Research merchandise value using current pricing guides or the internet.
• Rotate products to ensure continuous sale readiness.
• Greet customers and assist with basic questions about store operations and merchandise.
• Assist with loading and unloading merchandise as needed.
• Assist in merchandising produced goods on the sales floor per guidelines.
• Receive and record donations as needed.
• Notify the manager of low or overstocked merchandise.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
