Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a Hard Lines Merchandising Specialist to sort and price hard goods donations, ensuring merchandise is ready for the sales floor and profitability targets are supported. You will research value using pricing guides and online marketplaces, maintain a clean work area, assist with donation flow, and help keep the store visually appealing and safe for customers and donors.

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math functions (i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact well with individuals with diverse personalities and communication styles.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Sort and grade hard goods donations according to GWH quality guidelines to maximize production.
• Research merchandise value using pricing guides or online marketplaces to price merchandise.
• Identify items for eCommerce handling and relay to manager on duty.
• Ensure PPE is used and workstation remains clean, organized, and safe.
• Assist with loading/unloading donations and managing donation flow.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist in general housekeeping and safety.
