Job summary

Cox Automotive USA is seeking an Inspector Apprentice to verify vehicle information, document condition reports, and perform day-end procedures on incoming customer vehicles. This role emphasizes safety and accurate inspections across exterior and interior components.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills. It is a day shift, on-site role with potential for additional compensation incentives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
• Safe driver’s license required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Strong technical understanding and ability to multitask.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle information based on work order information – identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems by inspecting all customer vehicles at time of receipt.
• Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
• Set up system for day-end; perform day-end procedures.
• Maintain knowledge to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
• Write electronic condition reports (ECR).
• Conduct OVE courtesy walk around inspections.
• Maintain knowledge of system capabilities and relevant software packages.
