Job summary

Cox Automotive Fontana, CA seeks a detail-oriented Vehicle Inspector to verify vehicle information, document findings, and support safety and quality processes. You will inspect interiors, exteriors, engines, and components, perform day-end procedures, and write electronic condition reports.

The role requires clear communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle information and identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems by inspecting all customer vehicles at receipt.
• Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
• Set up system for day-end and perform day-end procedures.
• Maintain knowledge to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
• Write electronic condition reports (ECR).
• Conduct courtesy walk-around inspections (OVE).
• Maintain knowledge of system capabilities and needed software packages and web-based applications.
• Stay updated on improvements and changes concerning body mechanics and inspection techniques.
• Demonstrate safety commitment by following safety procedures and supporting Safety Excellence activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• May work overtime as business needs dictate.
