Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Inspector Apprentice to conduct vehicle inspections at a Cox location in Utah. The role involves verifying VINs, documenting vehicle condition, and supporting OVE processes. This is an entry-level position requiring a high school diploma and basic automotive knowledge.

We offer day shifts, on-site work, and potential for additional compensation. Must be able to pass an Inspector Certification within 90 days and possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years in body shop, mechanical, claims adjuster or estimating experience preferred.
• Must pass Inspector Certification Exam within 90 days.
• Safe driver with valid license required.
• Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle identification.
• Enter basic vehicle identification information into the database.
• Inspect vehicle equipment and options and document results.
• Assess and database enter exterior vehicle damage.
• Inspect and enter condition of vehicle interior, tires, frame and mechanical components.
• Complete and verify data entry to document vehicle condition.
• Perform post sale inspections (PSI) and enter results in database.
• Perform and document walk around inspections for online vehicle exchange (OVE).
• Review completed vehicle condition reports with inspectors and advise on results.
• Attend meetings to share information and complete trainings.
