Job summary

General Motors is seeking Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer Interns to perform hands-on work across plant operations, providing mechanical support for programs and leading small projects. You will learn to lead mechanical projects in operations improvements and replacement programs, with safety and quality as priorities.

This internship offers exposure to processes, safety culture, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Engineering Technology.
• Expected graduation between August 2027 and June 2029.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week).
• Willing to work in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Analyze product, process and technology to figure out the best methods of manufacture.
• Assist in the design and building of tools and equipment or recommends improvements to existing processes.
• Assist maintenance personnel in operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.
• Troubleshoot special maintenance and equipment problem.
• Coordinate machinery upgrade projects.
