Job summary

General Motors is seeking Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer Interns for hands-on work across plant operations. You will perform root-cause analysis, support manufacturing methods, assist in tool design, and coordinate machine upgrades while learning to lead projects.

This onsite internship starts in 2027 at multiple U.S. locations, requires full-time commitment and plant environment adaptability. Students in mechanical engineering or mechatronics, graduating 2027–2029, are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics.
• Graduation between August 2027 and June 2029.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week, in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Analyze product, process and technology to determine methods of manufacture.
• Assist in design and building of tools and equipment or improve existing processes.
• Support maintenance personnel and coordinate machinery upgrade projects.
