Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Modal Test Engineer to lead hands-on testing in the Greenville Technology Lab (GTL), Greenville, SC. The role covers shaker, LDV, and ping tests from fixture design to data reporting, all conducted on-site five days a week.

The successful candidate will have a mechanical engineering background with 6+ years in modal testing or structural analysis, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring ISO and EHS compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in modal testing or structural design or analysis.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute laboratory testing for gas turbine products.
• Develop expertise in Shaker Table, LDV, and ping testing and the engineering principles behind measurements.
• Define and interpret customer requirements to design testing campaigns.
• Identify, apply, and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Design and procure test fixtures to adapt rigs for testing.
• Execute campaigns, collect data, and report results to customers.
• Maintain ISO compliance and uphold GE EHS policies.
• Support on-site operations with safety and LEAN process improvements.
• Travel up to 15% as needed.
