The Modal Test Engineer is a hands-on role responsible for coordinating and executing product development testing in the Greenville Technology Lab (GTL) facility in Greenville, SC. In this 100% on-site role, you will be responsible for all aspects of Shaker, Ping, and Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) testing from fixture design and instrumentation through to test execution and posttest reporting.
Responsible for execution of laboratory testing, inspection, and data acquisition for use in the design and validation of gas turbine products. The Modal Laboratory Test Engineer will develop expertise in Shaker Table, Ping, and Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) testing along with the engineering principles behind the measurements. Define, collect, and interpret internal customer requirements to design a testing campaign to validate hardware across the GE Vernova gas turbine portfolio. Identify, apply, and troubleshoot instrumentation based on said customer requirements. Design and procure test fixtures to adapt existing rigs to test hardware. Execute testing campaigns, collect data, and report results to customer for interpretation. This role requires good interpersonal skills including regular technical discussions with internal customers and directing junior staff on duties. Responsible for operational compliance with ISO requirements. Responsible for full compliance with GE and regulatory EHS policies. Maintain a safe work environment with a goal of “zero” injuries. Develop and implement process improvements that align with our LEAN tools. This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. This role is 100% on site 5 days a week to support the quality build and execution of combustion tests. Up to 15% travel may be required for this role.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
