Job summary
6 Degrees Search is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our Central New York manufacturing partner in North Syracuse. You will develop embedded C firmware for microcontroller-based systems used in HVAC/R and industrial applications, collaborating with electrical, mechanical and test engineers to move products from concept to production.
You will design, implement, and debug firmware for 8/16/32-bit MCUs, work with sensors and relays, and contribute to new product development while
Qualifications
- Hands-on embedded C firmware experience required.
- Strong understanding of microcontrollers, interrupts, timers, peripherals, hardware interfaces.
- Experience debugging bare‑metal embedded firmware and troubleshooting firmware/hardware interactions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware in C.
- Develop firmware for 8/16/32-bit MCUs.
- Create control logic for sensors, relays, motors, and other components.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on product development and troubleshooting.
- Debug hardware and firmware using labs and test equipment.
- Participate in new product development, testing, and validation.
- Troubleshoot existing products and support continuous improvements.
