Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting partners with a Central New York manufacturer to hire an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join the engineering team. The role focuses on hands-on embedded C coding for microcontroller-based systems used in HVAC/R and industrial applications.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and test engineers to develop, validate, and improve products, while debugging firmware and hardware interactions and supporting manufacturing."

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience writing embedded C firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
• Strong understanding of microcontrollers, interrupts, timers, peripherals, and hardware interfaces.
• Experience developing and debugging bare-metal embedded firmware.
• Ability to troubleshoot interactions between firmware and hardware.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience with HVAC/R controls or industrial electronics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware using C.
• Develop firmware for 8-, 16-, and 32-bit MCUs.
• Create control logic for sensors, relays, motors.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on product development.
• Debug hardware and firmware with test equipment.
• Document code and participate in design reviews.
• Support products through manufacturing.
• Participate in new product development and validation.
