Job summary

Bohler’s Tampa office is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Summer 2027 to gain real‑world site design experience. You’ll work with engineers, designers, and project managers on commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed‑use developments using AutoCAD Civil 3D under supervision.

You will learn the full site development process from concept to construction, with mentorship and exposure to permitting, zoning consideration, and client interactions.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• A self‑starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D (training provided if not yet proficient).
• Curiosity and motivation to learn within a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Interest in civil site design, land development, and problem‑solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the day‑to‑day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
• Learn the stages of land development and site design processes.
• Gain hands‑on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for concept, grading, stormwater, and utilities plans.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to move projects forward.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to design and process improvements.
